Kombucha is a refreshing beverage made by fermenting sweet tea with a starter culture called a “SCOBY”. Making kombucha is inexpensive, easy, creative, and fun.
In this 1-hour workshop, participants will learn how to brew, ferment, and bottle kombucha. Participants will observe various stages of kombucha production and taste different flavors of kombucha. Each participant will receive a SCOBY and starter liquid to begin brewing kombucha at home.
This workshop includes:
· A step by step demonstration of how to brew and ferment kombucha;
· Tips for flavoring your kombucha brews;
· A tasting of different kombucha flavors;
· Printed instructions to brew kombucha at home; and
· A SCOBY and starter liquid to start making kombucha at home.
Note: Participants must bring a large glass jar with a secure lid to transport the SCOBY and starter liquid.
About the Instructor: Vanessa has been brewing her own kombucha for over 3 years and teaches healthy cooking, MELT Method self-care, and yoga.
A limited number of starter kits will be available to purchase after class.
